CRITICAL THINKING AND MEDIA LITERACY

               CRITICAL THINKING AND MEDIA LITERACY

Critical thinking is the ability to objectively, reflectively and systematically analyze information, ideas or situations, in order to understand, evaluate and form informed judgments. It involves the ability to question assumptions, identify biases, examine evidence, and reach rational conclusions based on information. Critical thinking promotes intellectual autonomy and informed decision making, so that people can confront problems effectively and develop strong perspectives on various topics.
On the other hand, media literacy is the ability to understand, analyze and critically evaluate the media, including print media, television, radio, internet and social networks. It involves the ability to interpret media messages, distinguish between facts and opinions, identify biases and manipulations, and understand the social, cultural and political impact of the media. Media literacy enables individuals to participate actively and responsibly in the digital society, making informed decisions and contributing to public dialogue in a meaningful way.
